Two questions.

Are there specific issues in Avast that would interfere with setting up Outlook (new installation, never used)? This is actually happening with another e-mail program.

Avast continually shows that 1 shield is disabled (from the tray icon) and clicking enable all does not change that. The user interface warns that a shield is not enabled and resolve all does nothing. The shield in question seems to be the mail shield.
