Thanks for posting, but spybot has been pretty useless for a while now.

Also you might like ‘Hitman Pro’ alongside avast. Spybot does not have very good detection anymore…
Sorry Guys...I believe as a "Totaly" free Anti Spyware Program with FREE "realtime", and alongside Avast, Spybot is awesome!!!...I used Spyware Terminator for full protection, Crawler toolbar included,and not knocking Spyware Terminator either, but It worked just with the XP firewall and before switching to Avast 4.8 back then,I downloaded Spybot first and did some scans and it saved my ass and got rid of a couple dozen malware including Trojans and worms that Spyware Terminator basically ignored...That will probably stay in my memory forever..After that I used Mawarebytes free scanner and SAS to fix up my cmputer and ever since then I have no issues whatsoever...
Spybot download is about 17mb compared to Adaware free which is 120 mb, and has some great free tools like the "System Internals" scan, also it puts a "Hosts File" on your computer to block thousands of bad sites, which is now being updated to the newer version, with todays top malware...It is rated by users as a 4 star anti spyware program, out of 5 stars, and has over 117 million total downloads just on Cnet.com...And now comes in a Portable free version.....I used it succesfully alongside Avast and Windows Defender with PC Tools firewall for years with no issues but got rid of WD as I am not a fan of monthly Microsoft Updates, let alone daily or weekly....The only thing that I would like to see in Spybot is.. a faster scan, and loading time, and when it does detect malware you have be in safe mode to be sure it gets rid of it, or simply use Malwarebytes for scans ..Spybot does detect, but has a hard time deleting....I know lots of you will disagree with me, but this is just "my opinion" for Spybot Saved my ass...as a Spybot user, and not forcing anyone to agree with me......

Exactly, but to each their own I guess.
Spybot is a thing of the past. MBAM and HMP are great on demand scanners. Use a secure dns and that will cover you better then Spybot.

SAS is also a thing of the past. SAS use to be good. Hopefully with version 5 its better. But honestly MBAM and HMP are all you need. Just check out MRG’s test results.
