Avast support directly the POP3 scan of Thunderbird? If a person usa an email box with ssl authentication Avast protect?
-
Yes - avast supports pop3 email with thunderbird.

If you mean secure email (such as Gmail) using a different port to smtp port 25, then you need an interface like Stunnel, so avast can scan the email, hand it off to Stunnel which encrypts and sends it.
See these threads for examples of SSL and avast:
Solution: Using GMail with Avast and a SPAM filter
Redirecting multiple SSL accounts
when you do redirect as per instructions from the threads remember to uncheck ‘ignore local communication’ or it don’t work.

With the new incoming version of Thunderbird, we will not need to have another program to avast! check virus in messages from POP3 with SSL Grin
