Which is your sensibility scanning? High, normal?
Any other security program that could interfere or conflict with avast? Other antivirus?
Which is your operational system and RAM capacity?
All setting are default I am using 3gb of ram, I noticed cpu usage become high when typing anything on the keyboard. After disabling the standard shield I can use my keyboard again, I dont understand what is happening it was ok yesterday.
There is something wrong (conflict) with ashServ.exe
Maybe you could create a dump, downloading and running http://public.avast.com/~vlk/hangrep.exe . In the list of processes select ashServ.exe and use the Save button. This generates a file which you can either send to his email address vlk (at) avast.com (if it’s smaller than e.g. 1 MB, ZIPed), or upload to ftp://ftp.avast.com/incoming
The command-line version http://public.avast.com/~vlk/userdump.exe . The syntax is
userdump.exe ashServ.exe c:\ashServ.dmp
(producing dump file in the root of C:\ drive) but I guess you have to be quick!
Also, check the folder \data\log
Are there any files called unpXXXX there (where XXXX is a random number)?
If so, send them to vlk (at) avast.com
They may contain more information about the problem (maybe a link to this thread).
What process exactly has a high CPU usage?
Does avast! tray icon spin when you’re typing? If yes, please open the On-Access Scanner console (leftclick on the blue avast! tray icon and switch to the detailed view if not already expanded), select the Standard Shield provider and watch the “Last scanned” field when you’re typing something… does the “Scanned count” grow? What’s happening with “Last scanned”?
