This seems recent, past month or two since I tried to update WarThunder…
Now, launching the patcher for the game causes Avast to go into terminal loops, sucking up every cpu cycle on every core to 100%.
Quitting the patcher does not change it, avast’s service stays at full utilization. Logging out doesnt fix it. You cant kill the avast runaway process. In process explorer it seems to be looping on infinite locked threads (the avast process that is… even after the warthunder patcher process is closed).
This happens when launching the warthunder patcher under any user, with all other startup programs disabled.
Only a full reboot (and thus resetting avast) will allow the computer to work properly again. This only happens with the War Thunder launcher. I have not yet tried uninstalling Avast as a “solution”
Also… added the warthunder path as an exclusion to both the antivirus and active protection exclusions. Also tried with them disabled. No effect.
Havent seen such a runaway process in a long time. Win7 x64 etc etc everything otherwise fine.
