avast and ZoneAlarm

Hello,

Since a few days, my ZoneAlarm firewall pops-up me the following alerts :

  • (green bar) - Avast! antivirus update attemps to access Internet
  • (violet bar) - Avast! antivirus wants to accept connexions from Internet

I had another one telling me that Webscanner wants to access Internet

As I noticed that the Avast version has changed, I suppose some feature
have been modified or added.

Is that correct ?

Here is any Avast user’s guide (Family or Pro) where I can find the related
info (I have the french version of Avast, and I am affraid that the on-line
doc hasn’t been updated yet !)

The latest version is 4.7.1029 released July 28, 2007 and because of the program update also updating avast processes your firewall should have asked permission for the following and probably in this order:

  1. avast.setup the process responsible for the download and installation of the update.
  2. ashWebSv.exe the avast Web Shield provider.
  3. ashMaiSv.exe the avast Internet Mail provider- email scanner.

All should be allowed.
