Avast Anti Spam add-in for Outlook 2016

I’ve installed Outlook 2016 with avast EPSP V 8.0.1607. If I look in Outlook 2016 it seems like the avast add-in is loaded, but I don’t see any anti-spam menu on the toolbar.

Tried doing a repair/clean install of avast endpoint client but no help.

I saw a thread about a BETA for this add-in back in November 2015, so does anyone know if this is now supported?

Otherwise if it is supported, would someone be able to tell me how to enable the ribbon (menu) in Outlook so the user can manage classification of SPAM/ Not SPAM, etc?

many thanks - Daryl

HI,

Outlook 2016 is not supported in the Endpoint product line, you can tranfer over to our new cloud solution if you would like.
Visit business.avast.com to create an account. If this works for you, we can transfer over the remaining time left on your existing license.

Thanks!

Jeff, Thanks for the reply. We are an avast reseller with mainly corporate clients so this is hugely important info. Since it is impossible now to get old versions of Office - 2016 is the only product we can supply. Therefore, when renewing avast endpoint licenses we will need to inform our client’s that it is simply not supported.

Obviously , this will make it very difficult to convince existing clients to renew.
What is the migration path from current Endpoint to Cloud console for our existing corporate client base?

See: https://support.business.avast.com/hc/en-us/categories/201209693-Migration-Upgrade-FAQs-for-Endpoint-to-Cloud

The migration path listed in those articles are only for EDU users at this time, the import XML box will not be there for other users.

Thanks,
Michael P.

Only for EDU at this time???

So I have a new customer, new servers (2012R2 Domain) without Exchange, but all new endpoint pc’s with Outlook 2016.

Currently i can sell him Avast Endpoint Protection Plus to get protection for his servers + Antispam for Outlook 2007/2010/2013 but not Outlook 2016.
AfB has now only 3 options: Basic (Free), Business, Premium. So unless I am wrong, for now I can only offer him AfB Premium - just to get an antispam filter for Outlook 2016, even though he does not need to protect Exchange.

It appears there is no equivalent Cloud product to replace Avast EPP, since the new Avast for Business Endpoint Security (cloud) has no antispam component protection?

Since SPAM is the main vector of viruses in our corporate world, we cannot promote any antivirus that does not have some form of antispam protection. So for the vast majority of our clients we will not promote the AfB Basic or Business… We may need to look for another AV product.
