Today when I looked at my Avast Premium Security Program, I noticed on the side where it says Privacy, the word “NEW”
I clicked there and saw at the bottom it says AntiTrack Premium Installed. When I click on that, it tells me to Learn More. I never have installed AntiTrack Premium? I looked on my computer in my apps and programs and it is not installed. I repaired the App, but it still is showing AntiTrack Premium as Installed on the App, but I don’t have it?
It says Installed for Secure Browser as well, but that I do have.
Thank you for the reply Pondus. I looked through there but I am not sure anything there answers my concern?
Why is Avast AntiTrack Premium saying Installed when I don’t have that app installed? When I click on it, it says Learn More. When I hover over the icon in the app, it shows Locked. Which I believe means I don’t have it installed, but I am just wondering why it says the word Installed under Avast AntiTrack Premium.
Hello, there was a bug in the UI, I hope it is fixed in UI version 659. Can you please check that you have this version? If you have and you still see “installed” label but the app is not installed, can you provide screenshot of it and logs from c:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\log? Send it to me: petr.blatny@avast.com
Thank you and sorry for issues
Any idea how to induce it? I tried several clean installations, added secure browser, etc. But AT and VPN has learn more all the time Can you please share right menu as well (to check if it is consistent with tiles)…
Yep, looked now, same for me too.
Avast is ever increasingly becoming a bug ridden, over burdening, up selling, less attractive piece of c**p.
I forever have to be cautious of what its going to do next when it should just sit there in the background protecting the PC.
At the same time this bug is minor, no popup to make you buy something and if dkap hadn’t pointed it out, it might have gone unnoticed by many of us.
However I find it strange that petr blatny can’t reproduce this problem that didn’t exist before the 659 UI update ???
I noticed this, but paid no attention as it didn’t cause any unexpected behavior and as mentioned didn’t provoke any popup to push sell an Avast product.
Can someone who doesn’t have installed AntiTrack, but UI says he has, check these registry?
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE:
SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\AVGAntiTrack
SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\AvastAntiTrackPremium
SOFTWARE\Piriform\Kamo
SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Piriform Kamo
When one of them is there, AT is considered as installed. They can be x86 or x64 too.
Thank you very much.
thank you… nice magic. Can someone share logs? Copy them from c:\ProgramData\Avast Software\Avast\log, pack them and send to petr.blatny@avast.com + Add info, what exactly is wrong (for example: AT not installed, but UI says it is, the rest is ok).
