avast antivirus 7.0.1426 not updating

i am updating avast 7.0.1426 but it says Step 1/2 initiallizing please wait. and this message remains the same for hours and hours.sometines when i update avast then it updates sometimes to 1% sometimes to 2% sometimes 95% and then it cuts in the middle and then i have to start updating it again from the beginning.what is the solution of this problem.some people says that manually download latest virus definintions. so plz if there are manual latest virus definitions of avast 7.0.1426 available then give me the link.plz
any help wd be highly appreciated.

Time to do a program update.

i have windows xp sp 3 32 bit.regtool installed which is registry cleaner.ccleaner also installed.
avast internet security 7.0.1426 is installed.
plz if anyone give me maually downloadable avast latest virus definitions for AIS 7.0.1426.
any help would be highly appreciated.

  1. Download avast! Internet Security: http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/avast_internet_security_setup.exe
  2. Follow instructions: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed avast! versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall avast! with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.

The latest version is avast 7.0.1466, so yes your version needs to be updated.
