Windows XP user here,
I’ve recently encountered a bizarre problem with avast pro telling me I’m unsecured. I followed the steps of several older threads and nothing has seemed to work to fix the error. I have tried to repair it, which it tells me that there’s an error with the packaging. I tried uninstalling it in safemode and reinstalling. I searched with Malwarebytes and everything showed up clean:

The moment I noticed avast had turned off I saw in my task manager that cscss.exe was at 200+mb of memory usage. After restarting and doing a system restore this memory usage problem has stopped, but now it seems with avast not working I may have a virus on my hand I have no idea how to get rid of (I trusted avast never to turn off while browsing, this seems to be what caused the issue). I’ve attached a hijackthis log if anyone is interested in it. I’m really in a bind here, please help?
