Hi I am a long time user of avast but this new version has made it so I will not use it anymore the reason for this is. I am just here to say that the new Avast Antivirus program free or paid for requires you to agree to allow them to collect data from your pc. Of course they say they wont use the data so why do they want access to it. We have all heard this before and your data gets sent to whoever they want.

well what AV are you going to use then…as this is somthing almost all AV vendors do now, and those who dont are working on it
the data is used to improve detection

Hi well I have been in the pc game for 20 years and have heard this many times we only need the data for us. What data on my pc can improve detection after all we have done just fine without that option for many years and as far as I am concerned Avast was great without it. And of course the first thing that happens is there data base gets compromised and all the information is downloaded then if you’re lucky it does not get posted on the net. You may look at this as a improvement but most seasoned user’s will not. And after all the best way to avoid viruses is for user’s to stay away from pron sites. If you totally believe what company’s tell you, you will get in trouble facebook is a prime example of that. There should be a option to opt out of it.
And after all the best way to avoid viruses is for user's to stay away from pron sites.how do you know if a site is safe or not? are the sites you consider safe immune to hacking? surf this blog. http://blog.sucuri.net/
What data on my pc can improve detection after all we have done just fine without that option for many years and as far asyea, we did just fine with horses so why do we need cars. the malware world change and we need new ways of detecting the huge amount of new malware found every day. in 2011 they found 70 000 new samples a day...the number now is 100 000+

And who has access to your data and never asked you or told you what they will do with the info they acquired from you?
Amazing really that cybercriminals will never come up with a fair use policy or e-u-l-a ;D

Hi well we choose to disagree and that is ok the world would be a sad place if we where all the same. There should be a option to opt out of it as other av companys have done. Thank you for your responces have a good day.
