I also suspect it is a scam, as far as I’m aware Avast doesn’t do a 5 year subscription. I too wouldn’t have called as that is an indication that they have a good email address ripe for more scams. The pdf I wouldn’t have downloaded either (for the same reason), but most emails would have had the pdf file attached and not require it to be downloaded.
I doubt they have your bank details (I don’t know that for certain), but calling them they would seek confirmation that they have the right details. At that point you are at great risk of fraud, not just now but possibly in the future..
Do you actually have An avast program installed ?
