avast auto-renewal of subscription

Hi,

I decided this weekend that I’d be sticking with avast! however I’ve hit a bit of a snag, upon bringing up the avast! store (by clicking the renew now) I noticed in the small print it tells me that I’d be signing up for an auto-renewal with my card, which I do not want to do, they also seem to be very unclear as to when the money would actually be taken be it weeks, months, years (doesn’t seem worded very well for me).

This is the avast store complete with the secure lock icon and there is mention of Digital River? I accessed it from the anti-virus itself using the “renew now” button where it gives me the choice of 1 year, 2 years etc. I want to agree to buying avast! IS for another year but I really don’t agree with wanting them to be able to take money off my card when they want… I’d much prefer to do the renew manually.

The auto-renewal is done monthly - but as far as I remember, it is possible to cancel it in the store (it used to be somewhere near the top - the payment mode or something like that).

Wait? So if I buy one year’s subscription outright the autorenewal takes money from my card monthly? I just want to buy my year and have control when I want to renew, if I want to renew.

edit: Thank you Igor for making me aware of that, I’ve noticed at the top of the page that there is a link that opens a window which allows you to choose manual renewal. Long as I don’t see money magically leaving my account I’ll be fine XD.
