My shop computer and my daughters computer both got a virus. AVG, Avast and Bit defender didn’t even catch this one! If I try to do microsoft update, the update button is gone. If I got to the MS website, the virus blocks it and says the website is unavailable, but I can go anywhere else but a virus protection page like avast or avg. Same as AVG, Avast, Bit defender and all. If I happen to go the backdoor way to download the program, the first thing the software wants to go their website and download updates. The Virus catches this and blocks the download, and closes the program. The virus completely shut down a second computer from even going on-line. When I finally was able to get MS Essentials loaded, it “deletes” the Trojan, but says the computer must restart to make the action permanent. When it reloads windows, it reloads to Trojan. My daughters puter is just about dead from this and she cannot even open up paint or adobe illustrator. We don’t want to reload windows and lose all her stuff as we have been told everything is tainted… anybody got a good program that will actually do something without having to “update” it first before using???
Welcome to the forum!
At first, could you please specify your systems: OS, all installed security programs… Thanx!

do a boot scan with avast if it doesnot help
Just to rescue you, You can install Quick heal Total Security on a clean system update it then go to tools emergency CD and make a emergency CD for you.(only in XP). Then take that CD to the infected computer insert it and restart it and wait…
Sorry i am recommending avast rival
It helped me so recommended you
Thanks
Ash
The AVs are probably conflicting. Uninstall all AVs except Avast and install Malwarebytes (www.Malwarebytes.org). Scan again with Avast and Malwarebytes after the other AVs are uninstalled and post the Malwarebytes log here. Attach it to your post. You will also want to install OTS and get a log from it as explained here: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0, attach the OTS log to the aforementioned post along with Malwarebytes.
It is possible that you must rename the malwarebytes-setup.exe if virus is blocking the install
