Avast behind proxy, communication blocked with HTTP response code 502

Hello all,

I’ve got a couple of Avast Home (latest) running behind a proxy. No communication to the internet is possible, apart from communication via the proxy.

I’ve been receiving the following in the proxy log however:

This means that my machine 192.168.0.185 where avast free is running, tries to access http://su3.avast.com/R/Ay4KEBtRsMk12kVLjWP-laamj9MSBAEZEhEYsAkiACoFCAIQygEyCAgCEMoBGIAK every some minutes (the first column is the date and time) and always receives back a 502 response code.

What is happening here?

Configure avast main GUI → settings → updates → proxy settings as you need. Then save the changes

You should also delete your firewall rules related to avast. Then reboot so avast will try to update and the firewall rules would be re-created (“learning mode” or equivalent in your firewall).

If the problem persists, please report back with more info.
