Hello,
Since the recent update (I used Avast for several years without problems until then), I can no longer get my emails.
Disabling Avast agents solves the issue, so the cause is obvious.
I already tried to repair and even clean install Avast, no change.

What exact version of avast ?
What exact shield is causing the problem ?
The issue exists with all email clients I tested (outlook, live mail, thunderbird).
avast free 17.6.2310
What shield, not sure to understand. Can other agents than the mail one interfere with emails ?

If you’ve disabled the mail shield and the emails never sent, try disabling the Web Shield and post back.
The issue is with the mail shield - I can leave others enabled.

I know this may sound too simple, but have you tried shutting down router/modem for a minute or so and then rebooting? PC too.

Check if you have a proxy set or not, depending on the instructions from the mail provider.
Also check the settings for SSL/TLS scanning and make sure they are correct.
No proxy.
As for SSL parameters, not much to say - the box to scan can be checked or not, and I tried the export certificate feature too.

Hi antjac,
could you please send me content of mailshield.log file? It is located in C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\log folder.
Also please try to turn off SSL scanning. Go to Settings > Components > Mailshield > SSL scanning and uncheck Scan SSL connections.
Thanks in advance,
HK
Windows 10 64 bits.
It is the generic “cannot connect to server” error (see attachment).

What happens if you turn off SSL scanning ?
If that is not solving it, what happens if you don’t use IMap ?
As the log says, it also blocks POP servers.
I already tried without SSL.

Could be me, but I only see IMap on IPV6 address blocked.
What happens if you change your DNS to the one from Google ?
