I have Avast! 2014.09.2021, and i did the last update of the version, and then Avast! block League of Legends, i tried exception for LOL, but can’t do anything.

I just want to know why Avast! block the most played game in the world with a millions of players all around the world ?

We need urgently an update.

There is nothing, LOL just don’t open, 0 message.

then how do you know it is avast?

Do a clean install of Avast and install the latest version of the 2015 version. Here is how to do a clean install. Follow these steps:

  1. Download the Avast 2015 installation file.
  2. Download the Avast Uninstall Utility.
  3. Download the Avast Cleanup Tool via here http://rejzor.wordpress.com/avast-cleanup-tool/. Scroll down and you will see a zip file.
Note: Don’t use this tool in the 2015 version-onwards.
  4. Disconnect your computer from the internet
  5. Uninstall your current version of avast via add/remove. Follow the instructions.
  6. Run the tools mentioned above one by one. Run the avast uninstall utility in normal mode. It will come up with a dialog box saying that the tool will run your computer automatically in safe mode click yes on both. After that your computer will be booted in safe mode automatically and follow the instructions.
  7. After that run your computer manually in safe mode (with networking) by pressing F8 and run the Avast Cleanup Tool and follow the instructions. Also run that tool in normal mode as well and after that restart your computer manually.

Last step is to re-connect your computer to the internet and run the Avast 2015 installation file. Click on custom installation so you can choose which feature you want to install and not to install. Before you click custom installation you will see a google dropbox install under please un-tick google dropbox before doing a custom installation of Avast. After it has finished the installation it will do a quick startup scan. Once that has been done restart your computer manually again. After restart register your copy of avast.

I too have League of Legends and also have the latest version of Avast and I don’t have the issue that you mentioned.

Remember to disable Windows Defender

Hi All,

I also had this issue but it turned out to be a False positive and there was no need to uninstall Avast.

Go to the Virus Chest (See below for how to find the chest) sort by date and you should see the LoL file that has been sent to quarantined. Right click on this file and select “Scan”. For me it then confirmed there was ‘-- no virus --’; if you have the same then again Right Click but this time select “Restore”. You should now be able to run LoL.

Important Note: Make sure you click scan and do not restore any files that are considered harmful.

To locate the Virus Chest for my version (2015) I needed to set it as a shortcut from the Dashboard. To do this simply Right Click on one of the 4 shortcuts and then select “Virus Chest” to set it as a short cut. I’m sure there is an easier way but this was the easiest for me.

Good luck all!
