Today a process called spsetup.exe was blocked by Avast! as soon as I started my computer and it surprised me.
About half a year ago, I had started noticed some command windows popping up now and then when I booted my computer back up from hibernation. Then sometimes when I was typing, the cursor stopped moving and I had to use my mouse to click back into the box to keep typing. One day when I was logging in to an important personal account, I entered my username and password, but I was redirected to yahoo and I was told that the website was not found.
All of these things made me wonder if there was some kind of malware or trojan in my computer. Could anyone help me with this, please?
As for the file path, I am not able to find it. I know that Avast! showed me what it is with a pop-up box, but I am not able to find the information contained in the box again. The only one I found while searching with explorer is spsetup[1].exe, but I am not able to direct to that location with VirusTotal. The full file path is C:\Users*my name*\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache\IE\MKROZC6G\SPSetup[1].exe
Save this as fixlist.txt, in the same location as FRST.exe
Run FRST and press Fix
On completion a log will be generated please post that
THEN
Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your desktop.
[*]Close all open programs and internet browsers.
[*]Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
[*]Click on Scan.
[*]After the scan is complete click on “Clean”
[*]Confirm each time with Ok.
[*]Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart.
[*]Please post the content of that logfile with your next answer.
[*]You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[S1].txt as well.
