So does this popup have more to do with the SSL certificate being revoked than anything else? It started (seems like) after the last update. It’s annoying. And it doesn’t seem to actually block anything. It pops up and sits there till I close it down.
Ditto for me, I’ve already spent too much time trying to figure out what was causing this message. Clearer info on the avast popup notices would be much appreciated.
Since posting my comment this morning, I came across a website called virusresearch.org which labels lijit.com as a brower hijacker and gives steps to remove it if you’re infected. If that’s the case, then it’s good that Avast is blocking it. On the other hand, I don’t know anything about virusresearch.org.
So I now have the same popup message, “Avast webshield has blocked access to this page because the following certificate has been revoked: *lijit.com.” I scanned with Avast scans and could not remove it, I also tried spyware. What can one do to remove this very annoying message that appears to be malware?
What can one do to remove this very annoying message that appears to be malware?have you read all the posts in this topic? ... as the issue is explained
Yes, I read them. However, based on the comments on this forum, and reading other sites, e.g. www.virusresearch.org, howtoremove.guide and malwarekillers.com there remains a question in my mind as to whether this is truly a legitimate verification of a “certificate” by Avast of lijit.com or not. If multiple sites are categorizing this as malware, then who is one to believe?

Did you notice at the bottom of all your link is a recomended “download lijit.com removal tool” And what do you think you find there Buy SpyHunter
Read my posts here and those made by HonzaZ (avast team)
This is becoming a real pain in the backside, is there a way to stop avast from giving this warning or somehow get it fixes.
Many thanks
Joe
So, these websites are saying it is malware so they can sell programs; And the message regarding, “*lijit.com” is not malware but a legitimate, non-malicious, message, and it is from Avast? It is interesting that the “*lijit.com” message has gone on hiatus.
Thanks for this reply.
I got this last sunday on https://www2.unotelly.com and i contacted them, and they say they dont haven any Connection to lijit.com. Only saw it once on their site, was gone when i Went to the site again the same night.
The only other webbpage i had open was Hotmail. Should i be worried about that it still showed the message regarding invalid certificate? I have seen other people write that they even got it when they visited sites with no ads.
