Avast blocked by Group Policy

Hello,

I’m trying to “stabilize” my mother’s computer but I just can’t figure out how to enable Avast. I get the message ‘This program is blocked by group policy’. As suggested in other posts, I’ve downloaded and run FRST that generated 2 files only, ‘Addition.txt’ and ‘FRST.txt’.

At this point, I should I proceed ?

Attach your basic logs. (MBAM, FRST and aswMBR…!!)

Thank you for your reply. I won’t be able to post those files until tomorrow.
The FRST.txt is done but i will need to produce the others.

OK, take your time.

There are so many games on my mother’s PC !!!

Files are attached

The FRST log

and the last one aswMBR log

Thanks again !

Ok I will remove it after work tonight

Addition.txt missing

Oups … sorry ! Here it is !

This PC is such a mess :-/ Just made a disk check, an after the start up, got a Windows update message… 143 updates need to be done. Didn’t have this message before the scan disk.

About PC Optimizer, it’s not listed in Control Panel, Uninstall Program but I will follow from step 2

Download FixList.txt from attachments …

FixList.txt must be in the same location where FRST.exe tool is!

Re-run FRST.exe as you did before …

[*] Download fixlist.txt that you find attached at the bottom of this post and save it same place you
[*] Press the Fix button once and wait.
[*] FRST will process fixlist.txt
[*] When finished, it will produce a log fixlog.txt and will keep that log in the same folder where FRST.exe is.

Attach here fixlog.txt logreport.

Attach here fixlog.txt logreport.

Thanks so much for the fixlist file. I just finished step 2 to 5 and the fixlist file is running right now.
I will report as soon as it’s done.

Just out of curiosity … how does your fixlist works ?

The fixlist tells Farbar what files/registry entries to remove.

Hi,

also, when argus is done. You might want to install Unchecky to prevent the adware from entering her system. The system was a very large mess!

Edit:Fix the BBCode for the link…

Thank you very very very much for your help. Ohhhhh yes indeed, it was a real mess. And … yes I will install Unchechy to prevent any further re install. After running the fixlist, I was able to reinstall & run Avast. Internet Explorer & Chrome are behaving normally. Windows Updates are all up to date. Couldn’t have done this by myself and without your help.

Hi, I hope you are there…

I’ve receieved some new info on Unchecky, what was once a star program may not be. Can you post FRST to comfirm you didn’t have conduit installed?
