I have just download free Avast which it includes Avast Safezone Browser. Moilla is blocking the add-on which is maybe only the ASB? Am I getting any protection in MF?

Can you be a little more detailed, how can mozilla firefox block the SafeZone Browser ?
The SafeZone Browser has nothing to do with firefox, it is a stand alone browser (now based on opera I believe).
The only thing that I can thing you may be talking about is the avast Browser Security add-on A.K.A. the Avast on-line Security add-on for firefox (AOS).
What avast version do you have, the latest being 17.3,2291 ?
What firefox version are you using ?
The Web Shield covers browsers from internet malware.

Hallo David. Thanks for your reply. I have the latest version that you mention. The add on that Mozilla is blocking is Avast Online Security 12.0.163. It has been disabled ‘not certified for use’. I don’t know what this add on does or if it matters that it is blocked. Am I still protected? I have noticed that about a dozen Avast api-ms-win-core-console I1-1-Odl app ext have been downloaded by Avast. Do I need all these? Many thanks. Indigogreen

Eddy, Thanks for the link. That has pretty well answered my concerns. I will go ahead and delete the blocked AOS. I was worried it was needed for overall security but obviously not. Big relief to get that sorted. Cheers. Indigogreen

Well, good security is build up with many layers.
AOS is just one of them
