Avast blockin all incoming and outgoing emails

For the last week or so I have been getting CONSTANT warning pop up from Avast saying that a malware was detected. “maninthesky…” mostly. I have a few email accounts but am unsure which one it was being delivered to as the “TO” email address was not coming to any of my accounts that i could see via the vault detail check. It would appear that the emails were coming in every couple of mins.

For the last few days I have not been able to receive or send emails. Rang my ISP and they asked me to ring MS support. MS support got me to disable Avast and I am getting emails - incoming an outgoing.

So the question I have is what do I need to do to have Avast enabled and have Outlook work? I don’t want to be unprotected while downloading emails. Has Avast assumed that with all the malware emails I was getting that this was so bad that they disabled my emails? If so, how do I get around? Also how can I identify which inbox the emails are being sent to? I checked via webmail (so before it gets to my PC) but cannot find the emails at all that are being sent.

I am using Outlook 2013 and Avast 18.2.2328 (build 18.2.3827.306). Thanks for any help you can give.

  1. You are not unprotected, all mail providers have spam / virus filter on the mail server

  2. This may be a mail client sync problem.
Clear your mail client cache and reboot … any change?

Still problems, post a screenshot of Avast message so we can see all the info avast give

By following this: https://www.lifewire.com/delete-outlooks-add-cache-file-1173820

I have no .dat file

I don’t get any Avast messge, the emails just don’t come through with Avast turned on. Any help is appreciated.

Which firewall are you using ??? Are you allowing Avast access through that firewall ???

I ended up deleting avast and installing Bitdefender. Problem solved!!

I did not change anything in regards to firewall, settings, etc.
