Avast Blocking access to certain Web Sites

I am using the net client edition of avast along with Windows Vista Business Edition. (Build: Feb2007 (4.7.652)). When I have all the On-Acess Protection on, I am having trouble getting to various websites. (goggle, microsoft sites, especially when following a linked #, getting new gadgets, etc).

When I stop all protection my problems go away. As luck will have it I do not know the password to change my settings. When I do i will update what I have done.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

After terminating the Web shield I was able to access the previous web addresses with out a problem.

All other On-Access Protection is running.

The is a known problem with WebShield and Vista that seems to be solved soon:
