Avast blocking access to www.startpage.com

For the second time this year, Avast has decided to start blocking www.startpage.com after I click on Search. I should say that most of the time it blocks it. Sometimes I can get through, but if I try a second time after a successful search, Avast ALWAYS blocks the next Search.

I have been using Startpage for years as my home page and find it irritating to have it blocked. I just finished reading a long thread on the subject from 2014 and was advised to create a new post instead of replying because there hadn’t been a reply in over 120 days.

In that thread, bob3160 offered a way to get around this problem by opening up Avast and clicking on settings, then on Exclusions. Then upon clicking on the URLs tab, I was to type in the URL and click Add, then OK. The only trouble is: There was no option to Add anything. The only option was Delete, which I (before I read bob3160’s post) unknowingly entered the URL and clicked on Delete, thinking that it would delete Startpage from its scanning process. But no, that didn’t do the job, as Avast continued with its hit-or-miss blocking of Startpage.

As I don’t seem to be able to contact Avast directly, I’m hoping I can get some answers in here. Actually, ONE answer would be sufficient, if it will get rid of this problem. Thank you very much.

avast isn’t currently blocking startpage.

As I don't seem to be able to contact Avast directly
Looks like you didn't even looked for contact info. What is so hard about clicking " contact" on the main avast webpage ?
