AVAST blocking Call of Duty Infinite Warfare

For some weeks AVAST seems to prevent starting CoD Infinite Warfare. I have to exclude the game path from the av scan process within AVAST. A lot of people got the similar problem as far as I see in the steam forums.

Hi, disable the behavior shield or set an exclusion.
Avast GUI → Settings → Components → Behavior Shield

I already did exclude it and it works this way. But I guess there should be a fix that the game isn’t blocked at all.

If the exclusion isn’t solving it, disable the behavior shield as Asyn said and see if that is solving it.

You can report a suspected FP here: https://www.avast.com/false-positive-file-form.php

Hello,
is there some Avast’s alert window?

Hi hrgargi,

is it possible that you use some kind of anti-cheat program? Does the exclusion for the Behavioral Shield on the Cod exe file solves the problem without turning off the Behavioral shield?

Thanks a lot,
PDI

Hi! I don’t use any anti cheat programs. I excluded the CoD Path and then the game works without deactivating something else within AVAST.
Behavior of CoD when it is not excluded: You start the game, chose new capaign and the game starts with the cinematic intro. Then the loading screen appears for the first level. The status bar goes up to nearly 100% and then it does nothing for a minute or so. Waiting a bit the game crashes and that’s it.
Excluding the game path and the campaign starts.

Here are some examples for people running into the same problem (I don’t know if it is only AVAST or for other AV products too):

… and so on.

Since there is a workaround (excluding) it is okay, but many people first complain about a not working game and need help in the steam forum.

Hi,
What’s avast version (Free , IS , Pro , Premium)?
can not it be related to port scan detection bug ?
https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=200552.msg1385557#msg1385557

It is AVAST free.

So that’s not what I thought , sorry.

Hello everyone, I have the problem with this game too, I have Avast Premium.
Despite the exceptions the game stops and moreover when it starts, in multiplayer the loading is very slow !!!
What can I do to not completely exclude the antivirus?
Thank you
