For the past couple of weeks, when I try to use Words with Friends on FB, Job postings on linkedin, the jobboard stepstone, etc, it get a message in chrome and edge that they are not secured and I can’t access them. I have added them to the exclusions in webshields but that doesn’t help. I have to disable avast in order to use these sites. That is something I don’t like doing. What has changed in avast in the past couple of weeks to make this happen? How can I get this back to how it was before?
- Which Avast…? (Free/Pro/IS/Premier)
- Which version…?
- OS…? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP/Build…?)
- Other security related software installed…?
- Which AV(s) did you use before Avast…?
Is there a popup message from avast? if so post a screenshot
There is no pop up message. What i get is in the picture attached.
Avast Free 11.2.2261
Windows 10 64bit
I also have adaware configured to run as a secondary. Yes I have turned it off and it doesn’t fix the problem. Also I have been using it for a while before this problem started.
Avast is the only AV i’ve used on this computer
What i get is in the picture attached.Looks like you forgot to attach the image.
Avast Free 11.2.2261That is a old(er) version. https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=185928.0
I have to disable avast in order to use these sitesWhat part/shield of avast is it that you have to disable ?
Sorry, see the attached screen grab of the message I get in chrome. I got this message today when trying to use the oneplus website, which previously had not been a problem.
I have to disable the webshield in order to get access to these websites.
How much does it matter that this is an older version? Should I uninstall it and install a new version?
To update, simply right click the Avast icon in the system tray and do the following:
