Avast blocking Google Music uploads

Hi,

I found out that Avast is blocking my uploads to Google Music and it’s only possible after I disable avst in total.
I’ve tried to play around with the settings as the webcare suggested: Settings>Active Protection>Settings icon>Web Shield settings>Sensitivity
but that didn’t help and I want to be protected and still upload my music.

Any idea?

ps english is not my native language ???

I found out that Avast is blocking my uploads to Google Music
if avast block there should be a message from avast ..... what does it say?

Ha zebo777,

groetjes,

polonus

Hi Pondus,

I didn’t any message. I’ve searched on this subject on Google’s help page. Thinking it was a Google error (the app) and someone came up with the sollution to disable Avast. So…

Hi Polonus,

80 is always open since it is the default port used for showing internet pages

Hey guys, I have recently discovered this issue as well and I have tried to add the google webpages to the exclusion list of the web shield but it seems I have to disable Avast entire to get uploads to work. I’m afraid that if Avast don’t fix it (it’s over a week, maybe more) then I will forced to uninstall this and get a new AV.

That isn’t coming from Avast. Even if you disable Avast, you sill get the same error. ???

Is the browser plugin up to date? I found I had to update that before I could upload any of my music.

This morning, I didn’t get the error but got the following instead:

Musicmanager has now been installed and the updates are working.
The problem was apparently at Google’s end.

No, I’m pretty sure it’s an Avast issue as I don’t see the could not connect message on non-Avast protected PCs.

I am also sure it comes from Avast.
When I disable Avast Agent for 10 minutes, I can upload music without any problem

Hi, same here. Yesterday I’ve decided to upload my music to Google Play and “Could not connect to Google” error appeared.
After disabling AVAST completely, error was gone and I could upload songs. Today, I’ve tried again with AVAST turned on and Google Music Manager shows error again.

It is certainly AVAST issue.
Please fix it:)

I had the same problem uploading through Chrome. When I tried to upload I got an “Error 16”. To correct the issue I go into Avast and disable HTTPS scanning. Exit and restart Chrome, then the upload works. Avast gives no messages or any indication there is a problem.

as one user mentioned, you have to do some exclusions and here’s how.

I’m on Avast! Free (v11.1) and it may work similar in other versions
Open Avast Interface
Click on Gear Icon (settings) on right hand side
Click on Active Protection on left nav > Web Shield > customize link (underline)
Exclusion - left navigation
Under “URLS to Exclude” add play.google.com and click add button
Under “Process to Exclude” add “Google Play Music” > click add button, next add “Google Chrome (32 bit)” > click add button.

Good luck.

See reply #6 above. I would never add an exclusion until I am absolutely positive it’s the cause.
Perhaps there is some other security program that’s doing the blocking. Let’s find out what it isn’t
so we know what it is.

Any other security software you have now or ever had?

I know what Bob is using, but what are all the others with a problem using ?
OS/SP, avast version etc.

To correct the issue I go into Avast and disable HTTPS scanning
That sounds to me a old(er) avast version is used.
