Greetings!
Some time ago I made HomeGroup to share my printer.
Today I noticed that my PC can’t connect to printer or any other shared folders on other PC in homegroup.
Tried to remake it but then I faced an issue:
My PC (the one who I need to connect to homegroup) doesn’t show any Homegroup on network even I made it on other PC.
When I ran “HomeGroup troubleshooter” it showed me following message that begins with:
“A non-Microsoft firewall is installed on this computer.”
At the “Troubleshooting has completed” windows it shows"
“Avast Antivirus is installed on this computer” and it had a yellow triangle at the end.
So I assume that Avast! is doing some stuff with my PC that doesn’t allow me to connect to HomeGroup.
Using Windows 7.
Any solutions?

You don’t say what avast version you have installed they don’t all have the avast firewall) ?
If your paid version of avast has the firewall, you probably need to allow file and printer sharing to be able to share the printer across the network.
I use avast free without the avast firewall so I can’t be helpful other than this has been seen in other forum topics.

I’m using “Avast Internet Security” 12.3.2280 paid version.
I had created HomeGroup and shared and used shared printer before.
As I said, I was able to join HomeGroup but not anymore and troubleshooter showed messages that was described in the beginning of this post.

Have you checked that file and printer sharing is allowed ?
This has been reported in other topics to regain access to their printers.
EDIT: And or Internet Connection Sharing Mode.

Thanks for taking the time to confirm the issue is now gone.
Computers, what would we do without them. To err is human, to really screw up you need a computer.
