ever since i updated to 4.6 everytime i turn on web shield i get a page cannot be displayed message in ie and the firfox equivalent why is this how can i fix it
What firewall are you operating ? If it’s ZAPro then turn off privacy and cookie control that should fix it. Otherwise more info is required

i am using norton personal firewall for now( if anyone has a recommendation for a good free firewall IL take it) and i have it set to allow the avast updater to connect to the net is my firewall conflicting with avast??? i am running win xp sp2 i hope thats enough info thanks for the quick reply
Try to disable Norton Firewall for a while and browse into a safe site, try to update, etc. Post the results.

yep it was norton firewall which i hate by the way it is a pos and almost useless are those firewalls you listed free??? which one do you think is the best

i got zone alarm to work and everythink works fine but first i tried to use outpost and couldn’t figure out how to configure it so i could use the internet could you tell me how to do that

yeah i liked the features better for the same reasons it makes it a more powerfull firewall
