Avast blocking Internet, connection preferences...

I’ve had to disable Avast today to use all my browsers and email. I’m still unable to connect to Comcast to download email, and I suspect Avast it behind that, too.

Earlier this week, I drove Comcast crazy trying to figure out why my Ethernet connection wouldn’t reset to “private,” until I discovered that Avast’s firewall was doing that, too. I don’t want to have to disable this thing every other day. What’s going on here? What can I connect, disconnect, change…?

You didn’t mention which version of Avast you’re using but, if it’s a version that contains the Avast Firewall and you are at home,
I suggest you change the setting to Private.
