avast blocking irc script?

Hey all i got a irc script but my firewall is off and i think my avast is blocking it the irc script contains sockets how do i putt it off because i really need that script

Does it help when you stop avast! resident protection, or just Web Shield provider in particular?
What operating system do you use, btw?

i use windows xp service pack 2 and my windows firewall is off
yeah when is stop it then it works

So, when WebShield is stopped, the script works?
Can you provide some more info about the script, please? (can it be downloaded somewhere? what does it do?)
