I have an app that I wrote and Avast blocks it every time I start it up. I have added it to both the global exclusions and the sandbox exclusions.
Why is it being blocked, alerts, etc. ?
You could also check the offending/suspect file at: VirusTotal - Multi engine on-line virus scanner and report the findings here, post the URL in the Address bar of the VT results page. You can’t do this with the file securely in the chest, you need to Open the chest and right click on the file and select ‘Extract’ it to a temporary (not original) location first, see below.
Create a folder called Suspect in the C: drive. Now exclude that folder in the File System Shield, Expert Settings, Exclusions, Add, type (or copy and paste) C:\Suspect*
That will stop the File System Shield scanning any file you put in that folder.
If it is only avast alerting on this (and your information on the alert, will help) then the best action is to report rather than exclude as that way it helps other avast users. From the avastUI > Support > scroll down to ‘Report files to the avast! virus lab’ Submit to virus lab button.
I guess I just needed to run it a few times telling avast to allow it. It is now starting without Avast blocking it.
