Avast blocking this site download?

The size of the file is 643mb i already try more than 10 times with different browser all result fail.

I already try 3 of my computers when it reach to 19.6mb download file Avast Ball will spin then the download will stop.

[b]To make it clear.

Mozilla, IE7, Google chrome all stop at 19.6mb when avast ball spin.[/b]

No warning pop up.

On curiosity i disable Avast then it continues using chrome, mozilla and IE7.

Is the site safe?

Or Avast having bug?

I recommend using a download manager such as free download manager.

It might be a glitch in avast. Do you have other security applications installed?

I dont use free download manager.

All my computer use only 1 AV. Never use any.

Im pretty sure its a bug because every time Avast spins… the download stop @ 19.6mb without any warning.

Since were same country kindly try my link.

Its a Special Force Online try downloading it if you can reach 20-30mb more.

So we can verify if its really Avast have cause the problem.

No problems with the download on my laptop. try disabling your firewall.

Did you use a browser to download?

YOur Laptop is windows 7 64 bit.

Try using your desktop which is more likely same as mine.

Do you have problems downloading other big files <100MB?

This is the first experience I’ve encounter.

Not only 1 computer but 3 of them with same result.

Anyway thanks for the time…

I just disable avast and completely download it.

The game is running fine now.

I will try my home computer hopefully its downloading fine their.

Just to answer your question i downloaded plenty installer already.

I even download, Game Installer which average of 2 gigs+, Avast installer, Firefox, MBAM using this computer without a problem.

You might want to hide your IM option to prevent spammers from sending you mail.

The IM is an internal avast forum function, which is restricted to avast users that have at least 20 posts. So there is a very limited chance that a spammer will get to 20 posts to be able to use it internally.

Can you download other games from the website?

If you can it could be a corrupted file or infected file that you are unable to download.

That website is the creator of Special Force online.

I already complete the download with Avast Disabled using FF.

The Game is running fine now.

The only thing that bugs my mind is that when Avast system tray ball spins @ 19.6mb/643mb the download will automatically finish but its incomplete.

I hope someone could replicate my issues because not only 1 computer with same effect.

I suggest scanning the downloaded file if you haven’t already. Just to be on the safe side. Scan it with avast! and Malwarebytes and/or SAS.

  1. Never disable any anti-virus. As you will leave yourself vulnerable to all kinds of nasties.
  2. I would not suggest disabling a firewall either. Doing so opens yourself wide open to lots problems with the software on your computer. :slight_smile:

I just use my other computer which is my other house.

It continues BUT! i noticed that when reaching 19.6mb, Avast will scan deeply which stop my download for about 5seconds then the download continue. I observe this on my other home computer.

I dont know what is the cause because i have avast with the same version.

I think its not a malware because if that case avast will block it! But No!

Avast will make my downloads finish but its incomplete without any warning.

Btw. The one that i download yesterday installer, I install it and scan with Avast and MBAM all clean.

I went to the site and downloaded the full client, first with Firefox 7.0.1 and then with GetRight download manager. Both downloads were the same size and at approximately the same download speed. They were not 643 MB. Perhaps I downloaded a different file. ???

Like you, in Firefox the download paused slightly while Avast scanned the partial download at 19.4 MB for me, then proceeded to completion. With GetRight, although I did see some Avast activity during download much sooner there was no delay in download. I have GetRight set to use AshQuick.exe to scan the download upon completion.

I see no problem with this.
