I wonder if someone could help me please. Ive recently been informed that Avast is blocking access to my website and users can no longer access it. Ive tried in vain to find out what the problem can be, but so far Ive drawn a total blank.
As a test I uninstalled my usual AV and installed Avast… and sure enough once I did, I just get the following message when trying to access the site. I cant seem to find anything in the Avast settings to over-ride this either.
This webpage is not available
The site concerned is wxw.kitz.co.uk and it comes up clean on everything Ive checked (and Ive used several) such as webutation
Can anyone help point me in the right direction as to what I do next please?
EDIT “There is currently no text in this page, but you can edit this page.” (This is what you get when you follow the link I provided). That’s silly, kitz.co.uk should not link to a blank page.
I think that should be fine - Affiliate Window are one of the largest reputable affiliate organisations… and I only use them for a couple of trusted and specifically chosen UK ISPs. I dont let them shove just any affiliate link up… only the likes of BT and o2.
Avast seems to be letting AW through ok from here.
No the redirect from there is fine, see htxp://uk.affiliatewindow.com/homepage/about-us/
On that latter address avast does not flag anything,
No the site has a facebook hack,
afaik Awin1.com should just be used auto-direct to the country that the site is based in - eg in my case uk.affiliatewindow.com, but they have lots of different country based affiliates.
If there was a problem with AW then I think it would be affecting 100’s of thousands of sites around the globe. Avast doesnt seem to be stopping me acessing AW so I dont think (hope) it wasnt that.
Ive just done an Avast update, and something has changed, but still having problems. Rather than a blank page with nothing, its now partially loading the site and giving me a pop-up with the following error message, before grinding to a halt
i know it cant change files on the server - it was just a saying… but as far as users of Avast are concerned… it may as well have… because they cant access it
Thanks everyone for your comments - everyones input most appreciated.
Fingers crossed that the next update fixes it.
