Avast blocking websites?

I have been having problems with Avast Free. It is blocking Reddit and, funny enough, this forum. I have to turn off my web shield and turn it back on every once in a while.

What gives?

OS…? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP/Build…?)
Other security related software installed…?

Both mentioned sites are using https.
Without knowing details, I say…
Upgrade to the latest avast version (or perform a clean installation of it) and see if the problem is solved.
