Have been having problems with Windows backup for quite a while, but now realise that Avast was causing the problem.
Had to un-install Avast, and Win backup completed correctly.
Re installed Avast, and my weekly Win Backup failed again !
What would you advise ? 1. Un-install the Win OS or 2. Get rid of the Buggy software which caused the problem ?
No Brainer !!! and the last time I pay for Avast !!!
Or 3…disable Avasts self protection to do the backup while waiting for the logs to be reviewed that you could have supplied for Avast to fix your problem.
Or option 4 when option 3 suggested by CraigB failed: uninstall “Secure Virtual Machine” component from Control-Panel → Avast → Change.
I have a report in the Japanese forum which suggests SVM prevents Windows 7 Image Backup.
