Recently started. Every few minutes I get a “Threat Blocked” message, followed within a few seconds by another one, from MS OneDriveTemp folder. Not sure if it is OneDrive for Business or OneDrive Personal, as I have both. While this is happening, I am not directly using either for accessing or saving. However, they both run in the background, so they may be doing something on their own.
Always reports a Win32:Malware-gen virus. I went to the Virus Chest, and those two are the most recent entries, each only once, dated 6/7/2016. Not sure why they would keep being reported.
Any ideas or help? Thanks.
Well, I’m a little concerned about deleting my entire OneDrive folder, so I haven’t done that yet. It syncs to at least 4 computers I use, so I could back it up on one by copying to a new folder outside of OneDrive, but I’m concerned that it would then delete them from the others, and take many hours to get everything back in place. Can’t go there right now. Also, that page said it would clear the cache, but do you know that clearing the cache would fix the problem? That isn’t intuitive to me (but neither are lots of things that actually solve computer problems). Nothing personal to you, but being told to clear the cache sounds lot like, “Did you exit all programs and reboot your computer?” If you know it does work to solve the false positives issue, then let me know and I will consider doing it.
I hope none of that came off like me sounding like a jerk. That was not the intent.
Thanks.
