hi
ok, i’m fed up with this
this problem made me reset the modem when the root of the problem was avast
heres the problem
avast blocks the frame of my modem interface which displays status and settings
I have excluded the address of my modem in the web shield exclutions (192.168.2.1)
I have also tried disabling deep screen with no result
but when I disable all avast shields the settings frame loads ok
I don’t get a block warning iether just the frame won’t load
does anyone here know a solution to this

because if I can’t resolve this i’ll probably have to uninstall avast and switch to something else

Did you update to 9.0.2007 yet…??

hi,
just performed the update
the problem persists even with the update

  1. In Web-Shield settings enable: Scan traffic from well-known browser processes only
  2. Click OK
  3. Reboot

hi,
tried this
the program continues to block the frame

  • Which avast!..?? (Free/Pro/IS/Premier)
  • OS…?? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP…?)
  • Other security related software installed…??
  • Which AV(s) did you use before avast!..??

hi,
avast! free
windows 8.1 64 bit
haven’t used any av before that
at least not on the windows 8.1 install
using mozzilla firefox 24.0
I might try and upgrade to latest to see if that helps but I doubt it will help since its a problem related to avast
btw nothing else in terms of security software
windows fw is disabled so is windows defender

See if that helps:

  1. Download avast! Free Antivirus: http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_free_antivirus_setup.exe
  2. Follow instructions: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed avast! versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall avast! with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.

hi,
I did the uninstall reinstall
however I noticed something
when avast! was uninstalled I still couldn’t access the setting frame
it wouldn’t load as usual
but yesterday when avast was disabledI was able to access the frame
what could be causing this

Strange. Sorry, no idea.
