After a boot time scan I get the following message: File C:\Windows\Installer\86fae.msp|>PCW_CAB_RDR|>rdrservicesupdater.exe|>static\images\hi_contrast\core_icons_highcontrast_retina.png Error 42125 {ZIP archive is corrupted.}
The problem is there is no such path in win 7. There is no Installer folder in the C:\windows folder…I would delete the file isf I could locate it, but windows search does not find it???
The fact that a Zip file is considered corrupt is no indication that the file is infected, just that Avast can’t open it fully to scan it.
That said, a few searches for some elements in this path returns more information, https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=core_icons_highcontrast_retina.png which could link it to possible malware.
And general information on what the rdrservicesupdater.exe part is, https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=rdrservicesupdater.exe. So I don’t know if this was an update for Adobe or not and if that location C:\Windows\Installer would be temporary/hidden or not, I don’t see it in my win10 system.
What made you run a boot time scan ?
