Hi,
I scanned by full system, then scanned by bootime and it report different amount of data:
Full system scanned 158GB
Boot time scanned 211GB
Then I look at my hard disk, there are 27GB in C and 137GB in F, total is 168GB. There is no other drive, only DVD with maximum 4.7GB. How can boot time scanned 211GB?
Regards
i think several problems…
- you were infected by a “System Volume Information” Virus, so the numbers were wrong(?)
- [s]there was still unallocated data space left/s
- any other drives attached? usb drive maybe? external harddrive?
- what’s the current capacity of you harddrive?
why did you do a boot-scan?
what OS are you using?
what version of avast are you using?
Sorry enma your way of base on your guesses.
The boot-time scan is a very in depth scan, by default it scans archive files, to scan these the contents are unpacked to a temp location and scanned. So the scanned data and scanned files totals included the files unpacked size of these archives.
