I use Windows Vista and when I run the boot time scan it shows Cab Archive Files corrupted. Is this a virus and what can I do to correct this issue? I ran CCleaner and it doesn’t do anything! I’ve read that if I remove all my System Restore
points and shut down the computer and start it up again it might remove the boot time corrupted files in Avast?
Anybody got any ideas?
First this isn’t an indication that this is suspicious or infected, it’s just reporting that the file can’t be scanned.
- Corrupted Archive file, this could simply mean that avast is unable to unpack it to scan the contents of the archive and assuming it is because it is corrupt.
Even if it were corrupt there is nothing that a user can do to resolve any corruption, short of replacing the file. This I wouldn’t recommend (especially if this is for archives in the \System Volume Information folder, part of the system restore function) unless you are getting problems relating to that file outside of the avast scan.
Thanks for your help! Greatly Advice! and I won’t remove system restore points!
You’re welcome.
