ok, we have upgraded to Avast business protection with the admin console. Have managed to remotely install avast on most machines but i have a handfull where it will not, no matter what i do install remotely. So i gave up and want to install manually. Every time i try to install manually it looks as though it has installed succesfully, but the 2 avast services are not actually running, if i try to start them i get this stupid stupid error message.

eror 1075 the dependency service is either not started or marked for deletion, the dependant service being avast net client, try to start that, and get the same error. anyone ever had this before?

try to restart the computer. It remainds me a situation when an “old” avast! was uninstalled, new was installed however for some reason the “old” avast service wasn’t removed correctly. It may sometime happen (e.g. if you have open services.msc window, etc…)

Restart, check it. If it won’t help - use aswClear to wipe out everything of avast! and try once more time. It will definitely work.
