It will be part of Avast 8 and I have run a few trials and it appears to be effective
It rather depends on your experience and how you use your browser, constantly tweaking it and adding extensions/plug-ins/toolbars.
I haven’t installed it (in the avast 8 rc build) as my browser is essentially stable and not constantly adding stuff to browser, my browsing habits aren’t risky and I use proactive measures (aside from avast and mbam, etc. to protect my system/browser.
