Hello, I’m having an issue syncing Avast Secure Browser and the Password Manager as well as Firefox and Password Manager. I am signed in and when I go to the Password Manager and try to use the browser integration option to add Avast Secure Browser, I get this error:
An error occurred while processing your request.
Reference #30.17643717.1735850790.5958d6f9
I don’t use the Avast Secure Browser (ASB) but my default browser is Firefox - so I’m going to guess it is to do with this.
ASB is based on the chromium based browser language code (also used in Google Chrome and Edge - whilst firefox isn’t chromium based
Firefox also uses the Gecko web engine, which was developed by Mozilla.
Firefox is a large open source software project with over 21 million lines of code. The project uses tools for code quality, such as static analysis, linting, coding style, and code coverage.
I don’t know for sure if this is the case, but I think it very likely.
Thank you for explaining why it won’t work in Firefox. I’m not sure why it won’t work with Avast Secure Browser though. It used to work until I was prompted to upgrade Avast Secure Browser, which I did.
However, if it previously worked with ASB before being prompted to update ASB. That would to a degree invalidate my assumption, if it previously did work. Then what changed in the Update could have broken it.
Is this an add-on being used or some password manager ?
Unfortunately not using ASB or any other chromium based browser I have no personal experience of this.
I am using the Avast Premium Security Password Manager with the Avast Secure Browser, which have always worked well together. Last week I received a message from the ASB that it needed to update and I followed the instructions, which involved uninstalling it and reinstalling it. So I thought I could just go into the browser integration feature in the Password Manager and enable it again as is usual, but now it doesn’t work. Thanks again for your input and time helping me with this. It may be that I have to ask technical support to get involved.
