Avast Business Antivirus 21.3

Release date: May 10th, 2021 (originally scheduled for May 4th)

Release Summary

This release contains new improvements and bug fixes to our Avast Business Antivirus client.

Avast Business Antivirus 21.3 will be available for new installations immediately. All existing devices will start the automatic upgrade to 21.3 at a later time.

If you wish to upgrade your devices to 21.3 prior to the automatic upgrade, then you can create a new Task (Update device – Program update task) from your console.

A system reboot will be required to complete the installation. There will be no forced reboot, unless you have set this in your device policy settings. Servers will never reboot, regardless of your device policy settings.

Important!

Avast Business Antivirus 21.3 and all future version require KB3033929 Windows security update installed (relevant for Windows 7 x64 and Windows Server 2008 R2 only, all other OS aren’t affected). Devices without this update will stay on previous version until OS security update is installed. Attempting to install 21.3 on a device without this security update will end up in installing previous 21.2 version. Using offline installation package on devices with Windows 7 x64 and Windows Server 2008 R2 missing this security update will end up with unsuccessful antivirus installation.

Improvements

  • Improved Rescue Disk - We’ve added a portable web browser to our Rescue Disk so you can search the web even when Windows isn’t working
  • Fewer distractions - We no longer show pop-up messages when your antivirus is open
  • Better scan performance - We’ve made a lot of small performance improvements to our security scans

Resolved issues

  • Passive Mode fix - We’ve fixed a bug that would sometimes disable Passive Mode soon after it was turned on
  • Fixed issue - BCC ignores non-existing files when deleting from virus chest

Still nothing, version 21.2 on all servers and workstations.

Sorry for not mentioning, it will be released next week - May 4th, 2021. Will fix it for future announcements.

Any new release date?

LOL, I just wanted to ask this right now.

Still nothing.

We are facing technical issues with 21.3 on Win7 x64 and Server 2008 R2 devices without KB3033929 security update (released in 2015) installed. Release notes will be updated during today and the release is scheduled for monday, May 10th.

Windows 7? Server 2008? They are still supported? :joy:

Yes, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 are still supported OS and some customers are still running on those.

New release date for 21.3 was set: May 10th.
