Release Summary This release contains new improvements and bug fixes to our Avast Business Antivirus client.
The new version of Avast Business Antivirus will be available for new installations immediately. All existing devices will start the automatic upgrade to this version at a later time.
If you wish to upgrade your devices to this version prior to the automatic upgrade, you can create a new Task (Update device – Program update task) from your console.
A system reboot will be required to complete the installation. There will be no forced reboot, unless you have set this in your device policy settings.
New Feature(s) & Enhancements
● Ransomware Shield – added support of managed Ransomware Shield component for additional protection against ransomware attacks. Central configuration of Ransomware Shield policy can be done via Business Hub 8.51 and newer.
Resolved issues and small improvements
● A non-admin user cannot disable the shields on managed versions of AV
● Password Manager gone after product upgrade to new Small Business Solutions
● Policy is not propagated when user is not logged in
● Several other smaller bug fixes.
We released this update to the machines in our environment and:
a) it took forever to install. Users got stuck on “Please Wait” for hours.
b) when it finally allow users to login, it would never open. Says “We crashed”.
Clean uninstall and manual installation and it works for a while. But after a while it goes back to “We crashed”.
Looking at the dump, this is where this version is crashing:
