Avast Business Antivirus 18.6 has just been released (10th September 2018). This release delivers some enhancements and bug fixes.
Enhancements
Do Not Disturb Mode, replaces Game Mode and adds support for non-game apps too.
Edge extension replaces the Internet Explorer one (https://www.microsoft.com/store/apps/9P5882STVN6X)
Support for scanning TLS 1.3 traffic via Web Shield (Chrome, Firefox)
Bug Fixes
Issue with registering devices within the Cloud Console when devices are behind a proxy
Fixed issue with devices not receiving updates from the Master Agent and pulling updates from the internet instead
Firewall notification not displayed when network changed
Detection dialog not displayed for Web Shield when set to Ask
Wrong reporting of Wi-Fi Inspector scan progress percent
Site blocking works again
Rescue disc minor issues have been fixed
Reporting of Antivirus and Firewall state to Windows Security Center
Explorer scan result not added to Notification Center
Upgrade will be available later. We are doing slow roll-out. In case you strive the new AV 18.6, uninstall the previous version and install the new one is the only option for now.
I’ve talked with support, and was given the same instructions with going through the hassle of uninstalling, then downloading from the Console. It ends up on the same version, 18.5.
I fail to find something about how to enter licenses in the unmanaged Business version.
As far as I can tell, upon first installation at the end a popup form asks for the license and it then gets activated.
Where can I change the license used when this is not the case?
Update 17.09.2018 I got the information that there should be an entry “Subscription” in the settings of the app. It is possible to download the wrong installer on the Avast website which doesn’t show this pop-up form during installation. One has to make sure that the proper installation file is chosen (Managed/Unmanaged, …)
