i recently download avast on my pc.
when i try to go the market tab in the software it say “avast! market: you must be connected to view this content”
and when i try to register it show the retrieve information window and it disappear without any info…
it there any problem with the server or it just me?
and also how do i fix this error…
but i can still update the program though and i download through the main website avast.com.
i only got 2 anti-virus
microsoft security essential
and avast!
After removing MSE you should also run there removal tool http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9748340, Probably a bit early to go through the hassel of re-installing avast yet as i dont believe the problem your having is due to conflict with MSE.
Iv never used the market tab in avast and i have those features removed but im not sure if that feature is fully working yet though ??? and if it is it could be a server issue
and also the mse and avast cause a conflict and cause problem in my pc…
i have to boot in safe mode just to uninstall avast,
it there anyway avast not cause a conflict with other anti-virus? since now a lot of people recommended installing multiple anti-virus…
No. And there is no way for MSE to not conflict with Avast!. There is also no way to get Kaspersky to play nice with Norton, McAfee will not work right with Trend Micro, Fsecure will conflict with Avira…can you see where I am going with this? Resident, on-access antivirus programs will not work right together. The symptoms will range from lesser problems like slowdowns and false positives, to more serious things like full lock ups, BSODs, or a totally unbootable system.
And you do not get more protection from having multiple AVs installed. You get less. On the surface, it seems like a good idea, but have a thought to what happens when both antivirus detect the same file at the same time. They get in a fight over whos job it is to deal with it, and can more or less attack each other rather than the infected file.
I do not know who these “lot of people” are, but they are misinformed. Just so you do not think I am some rabid fanboy, you are free to also uninstall Avast! in favor of MSE…but for the health of you PC, and to save yourself a big headache down the road, please choose one or the other.
quote: "1. Can I have more than one real-time anti-malware product installed?
No. Having more than one real-time anti-malware product installed will compete with other anti-malware product(s), and can cause severe performance problems and system instability issues, and may limit the effectiveness of the products installed. Even if you attempt to have more than one product installed, with one active and another disabled, the disabled product will likely still have active components and/or drivers installed that will conflict with MSE. The important issue here is that any other product with real-time scanning will conflict with MSE (or any other real-time product).
However, you can have an on-demand scanner, such as Malwarebytes, installed. Malwarebytes offers two different scanners – one on-demand (free), and one real-time (paid). The on-demand scanner does not conflict with MSE’s real-time scanning."
