Avast cannot detect Backdoor.Win32.Shark...

Hi,
I’ve found a program running in my memory named “windows:BoredCoders.pif”, which I found in the net that it could be “Backdoor.Win32.Shark” trojan. I guess I got it from 3D screen saver installation today but Avast On-Access scanner was running too while I was installing the program. I still have its image as a file data stream at c:\Windows, if Avast team interests in the image, please email me.

By the way, I’m using avast v4.7 Professional on Windows XP SP2.

Send the sample to virus@avast.com zipped and password protected with the password in email body, a link to this topic might help and possible undetected malware in the subject.

Or you can also add the file to the User Files (File, Add) section of the avast chest where it can do no harm and send it from there (select the file, right click, email to Alwil Software). No need to zip and PW protect when the sample is sent from chest. A copy of the file/s will remain in the original location, so any further action you take can remove that.
