Avast cannot update latest virus definitions?

So my Avast suddenly gave me notification of outdated virus definitions, even though I’ve always kept automatic updates enabled. I went to settings → update and tried to update them and current definition version on my computer seems to be 151229-1. When I try to update, it seems to fail as version number doesn’t change giving this:

Last encountered error: Invalid file signature. Setup will terminate.

Is this a problem with my computer or probably Avast update download itself?

EDIT: oh, someone else made topic about this issue just before me :o

Not getting any error messages. I see the following:

Same thing here. sigh

Several posts all over the forum about this already, so no need to start a new

Apologies, I noticed other topic about this had popped up just after I posted my own :-[

Just did a manual update I do not have latest vps, but told up to date.
My current version 151229.1

No, your version (at the moment of posting) was 20151229-2 as it clearly says in the screenshot.
That was the latest version at the moment of posting.

EDIT:
Oops, that image is from Bob ::slight_smile:
